Message From Mr. Marshall
Dear Webster Stanley Families and Friends,
Spring is finally around the corner and with that comes Forward testing! Due to COVID-19, the state of Wisconsin suspended the exam last year since we were in the virtual learning model. This year, however, the state is moving along with testing but it won’t take as long because they have made the exam shorter. Our 8th graders will be taking a portion of the test on April 7th and 8th, and the entire school will be testing on April 13th and 15th. Our eAcademy students are also expected to take the Forward Exam and they must take the test at school. We will plan to test our eAcademy students on April 20th and 21st. All testing dates will take place during the morning hours. Please make sure your student attends school on those days and please try to avoid any appointments on those days as well. As always, we want our students to have plenty of rest the night before and feel prepared to do their very best. More information will be coming in a letter very soon.
We have a new member on our office team. Her name is Deb Kortbein and she will be one of our new secretaries in the office. Erin Kules has accepted the position of head secretary at Roosevelt Elementary School here in Oshkosh. We will miss Mrs. Kules and we wish her all the best in her new role. Ms. Kortbein comes to us from the Oshkosh Recreation Department. Our staff is happy to welcome her to the Webster Stanley family.
I hope you all have a safe and relaxing spring break!
Sincerely,
Mr. Marshall
Note From The Nurse
Dear Parents and Students:
The Webster Health Office appreciates your effort and honesty in helping us keep COVID at bay.
Here are some things your school nurses are asking you to do to help us keep school as safe as possible:
Notify us if you are currently under quarantine or isolation (marni.depeau@oshkosh.k12.wi.us) april.young@oshkosh.k12.wi.us
Continue to monitor your student’s health by using the OASD Student Daily Health Screen
If you are able to answer “yes” to any of the questions, DO NOT send your child or their siblings to school. Please notify the school that your child and siblings will be absent and state the reason for staying home.
We will call you to determine a return to school date. This is a new part of our job this year that can feel very invasive. We have to call and ask questions regarding your child’s health. Your cooperation will help us to follow the guidelines and continue to keep the doors open for in person learning.
Don't send your child to school if anyone in your house:
- is waiting for covid test results
- has a positive test result
- is having symptoms consistent with covid.
Update your Infinite Campus contact information so we can get a hold of you if your children need to be picked up from school. If you can not do it yourself, please contact your school’s front office.
Understand our team of covid contact tracers receive guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and the Winnebago County Public Health Department. At this time, OASD continues to practice 14 day quarantines to ensure student and staff safety in our schools during this pandemic.
